The Battle of Atlantic Ceremony this year was distinguished by the presence of several Naval and Air Force dignitaries who joined us to pay their respects and we were also honored to welcome a true living link to our naval heritage. Joining from the Fairview Manor in Almonte is Commander John Chance, Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve (Retired).” John is 102 years old and is one of the last surviving Veterans of the Battle of Atlantic in Canada.
Special recognition was extended to Cdr (Ret’d) John Chance through framed certificates from Premier Doug Ford, MP Scott Reid, MPP John Jordan and Mayor Christa Lowry. The accolades were read by Mississippi Mills members of Council marking a proud moment for our community and our Branch.
